Resilience of Belgium Paid Off

July 3, 2018

It was a great show of Belgium’s resilience when they overtook Japan from 0-2 to 3-2 and grabbed the victory. Japan was the only Asian team left in 16 knock out stage and fought a great fight to book a place in quarter finals. Japan took upper hand by scoring 2 goals (@ 48’ and 52’) in the very beginning of the first half pushing Belgium down to nose. Genki Haraguchi put the Blues ahead @48’ with an angled finish, and 4 mins later Inui Takashi struck an electric long-range goal putting Japan to driving seat.

Then it was a real test for the Belgium for their strength of character in Rostov Arena, where they proved the world who they are by scoring 2 goals @ 69’ and 74’. Those goal were fantastic headers by Vertonghen and Fellani, and victorious goal was scored by Chadli @ 90’+4’.

Belgium are the first team in 48 years to come back from 0-2 in FIFA World Cup knock out match and this is the third time Japan fell @ Round 16. No Asians live in 2018 World Cup Russia anymore and seems like New World Order (NWO) is being created in the sport of football.
